Clark Educational Services is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed to provide financial assistance to international music students studying in the United States on financial scholarships and provide engaging music education programs for young people to foster and early interest and inspire lifelong enjoyment of music.
CES is all about helping international music students who have no one else. When an international student comes to America to study it is usually on an F-1 Student Visa, which does not allow them to work for an income. However if the student obtains a Curricular Practical Training (CPT) from the universities International Students Office, the student can work in their field of study to obtain real life experience. Many international music students are in the United States on a scholarship.
Unfortunately, their scholarships usually only covers tuition, so these students are on their own to figure out how to provide for their basic needs.
This is where CES comes into play by providing these students a way to earn credits toward living expenses not covered by their scholarship.
Our students usually are in the country on a Visa so they can not recieve income. So CES provides our students with various opportunities to earn credits to use towards housing, textbooks, university fees not covered by scholarships, daily living supplies, food, and other necessities. CES raises funds through private donations, corporate donations, fees charged for private music lessons, fees charged for private event entertainment, etc. CES benefactor students then perform at CES events to earn credits towards their basic needs not met by scholarships.
For example, a CES student could perform at a one and half hour music class provided to an underprivileged elementary school or they could provide music performances to the general public at local libraries or local bookstores. This is done to supplement local budget cuts to various public music programs. Local individuals and corporate sponsors fund these events by making a contribution to CES for these events, CES then use the donation to provide basic needs to the benefactor student who performed.
Also, a CES student could perform at various social events around the DFW Metroplex, such as Club Christmas Parties, Non-Profit Fundraisers, Private Clubs, etc. CES provides the entertainment for the event and the event sponsor makes a donation to CES who in turn uses the donation to provide basic needs to the benefactor student who performed.
